A clearer file. A clearer result.

Prepare artwork for printing and engraving.

A logo can look sharp on a phone and still be too small for a printed object. Start with the original file, decide the physical size and review the smallest details. This guide covers the gifts and branding designer; other upload forms may have different limits.

The designer checks technical quality. You still need to confirm the wording, layout and suitability for the chosen product.

01

Bring the best original you have

PNG, JPEG and WebP images can be uploaded. The designer also imports PDF, SVG, PDF-compatible AI, HEIC/HEIF, TIFF, BMP and AVIF. Export EPS and older AI files as PDF or SVG first. Use a single page or still image, and check the imported result.

File size and image limits

Use a file up to 12 MB; SVG files are limited to 8 MB. The processed image must fit within 25 megapixels. If an import is rejected, export a simpler single-page file or a PNG at the required size; changing the filename extension does not convert a file.

Logos and transparent backgrounds

Use the original vector logo when available, or a sufficiently large transparent PNG. A white background in a JPEG is part of the image. Check whether you want that rectangle to appear before approving the layout.

Fonts and linked elements

For a vector export, convert text to outlines and include linked artwork where possible. Keep an editable original for future changes. Check small lettering after import rather than relying on the file format alone.

02

Match pixels to the physical size

Aim for 300 pixels per inch (ppi) at the final decoration size. The designer blocks images below 150 ppi and warns between 150 and 300 ppi. A warning is a reason to inspect the details; meeting a numerical threshold does not guarantee that a blurred source becomes sharp.

A useful size example

An image 1200 pixels wide is about 102 mm wide at 300 ppi. Enlarging the same image to about 203 mm gives 150 ppi. Reducing the decoration size or finding a larger original is usually more useful than simply adding pixels.

Check detail and boundaries

Look closely at thin lines, small text, faces and cropped edges. Keep essential information within the allowed design area. Use the product’s actual shape and permitted position when judging the layout.

03

Prepare for the chosen finish

For colour printing, use a clean, well-lit photo or clear logo source. For engraving, think in contrast and shapes: full-colour differences do not automatically become distinguishable engraved tones. The exact surface affects the result.

Before approval

Check names, dates, accents, orientation and any front/back variation. If the design contains a code, ask about a suitable size and test its intended use on the finished sample where relevant.

When you need help

Send the best file you have with the product and desired dimensions. Explain whether the background should remain, what text must be editable and which colours or details are essential.

Questions before you begin

Is a screenshot of my logo enough?

A screenshot often contains too few pixels and may include a background or compression. Use the original logo export if you can. If a screenshot is all you have, ask us to assess it at the intended size.

Does SVG or PDF always mean vector artwork?

No. Either format can contain a small embedded image. Inspect the actual content and imported preview; the filename alone does not establish quality.

Will the printed colour exactly match my screen?

A screen emits light, while the finished object reflects it. The surface and production method affect appearance. Tell us when colour matching is important so we can discuss an appropriate sample.

Can I use any image I find online?

Use artwork you own or have permission to reproduce. For a company logo or commissioned illustration, check that your permission covers use on the intended products.
